3d Sublimation

The beginnings of sublimation were in the stamping of flat articles and using a flat transfer plate. With the passage of time, 3D sublimation emerged to be able to sublimate irregular items or 3D items, for example mobile phone cases, ashtrays, plates, cutlery, etc.

The basic principle is the same: we print our design on a sublimation printer and then we place the printed design around the sublimable item and apply heat and pressure in a 3D oven to carry out the transfer.

3D ovens generally work with a membrane that allows a vacuum to be created and in this way ensures that the printed design envelops the surface of the article.

If instead of paper, we use sublimation film, we achieve a complete covering of the article.

What paper should we use for 3d sublimation?

In 3D sublimation when printing we have 2 options. We can use sublimation paper or sublimation film. The sublimation film is printed in the same way as paper but with the difference that when heated and the vacuum is applied,

the film adapts to the shape of the object and covers its entire surface, achieving complete coverage of the object in the stamping.
